Hell’s Gate National Park lies south of Lake Naivasha in Kenya, north west of Nairobi. Hell’s Gate National Park is named after a narrow break in the cliffs, once a tributary of a prehistoric lake that fed early humans in the Rift Valley. It was established in 1984. A small national park, it is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery
You can take a bicycle ride through the park and a walk through the jorge. Rock climbing is also recommended. the road is easily accessible by road. relaxing at the end of the day at the spa is also really nice. on a bad day you will find loads of students being rowdy and loud. Carry lots of water and food.
This is a must visit if you love nature. You can make it an all day trip or just 2-3 hrs. We were running short of time so opted to drive to the gorge (you can also rent bikes at $5/bike) and then hired a guide to walk us through the Gorge.
This is one of the few national parks where you can go without a car, so you can take a walk or rent a bike. It is very different to experience wildlife face to face from watching it from your car. However, you can spot a lot of wildlife outside the park too.
From biking, rock climbing, hiking, nature trails and walking. Hell’s Gate National Park is a must do to every Kenyan Citizen. #tembeakenya
